Presentation Night 2019

Another year of sailing gone Though this year I was just a Race Management volunteer.
We met up on Friday night s usual to do the decoration
The theme this year was newspaper boats or hats
Being Election night many had an extra political note to them
my hat Newspaper pleated with boats and a staked Black Heart of Peter Dutton 


 Sonia wanted everyone to get onion the act So she had created some headband thats he trimmed to boat same anyone who had not done anything reactive she gave them a band


Mark (a double winner) had a jacket made our pf election flyers 
This couple won the hat competition 

Jeremy in his fine epaulets (treasurer) and his wife dressed up  She even has a corsage !

 Each year Di develops a challenge to keep the non sailor occupied They need to find boats with number son them among the hanging boats Arrange them in numerical order (our table forgot this step) and find the boat owners Meant you and to go and chat to people

We had 4 kid there who made great use of the dance floor  during the breaks 
Martin and Simon spoke about the Around the Bay trips the JBs and Cats did at Easter 
Their route was averages of each other Plagued by light wind

Japanese Friends

It was great to catch up with Sakurako, her mother Masako and her family
They live in Uji, just near Kyoto and we organised to meet her in Uji to see Byodo-in Temple
Tatsuya, Sakurako's father was looking after the boys but we ran into him and her youngest Akinobu near the Shrine, while they were waiting for Takumi to finish school.

Takumi was learning English, and spoke a few words. After a while he got used to my asking questions in Japanese and answered  rather than look blank.
Kazuhiru Arrived from work and at end of his meal was very tolerant!
 We moved on to Fukuyama from where we met up with Kiyoe, Hideo and her 2 sons Keita and Yuki
