The Archibald Prize

This time the Archibald Prize was in Ballarat gallery, I visit the NSW gallery on its last day but save dat for our trip
We used our senior's free regional travel and met up at Southern Cross Station.A comfortable 2 hr trip to Ballarat
The Archibald Prize is Australia's oldest and main Portrait competition. JF Archibald (1856-1919) was a journalist and founder of the Bulletin magazine, who also served as a trustee of the Art Gallery of NSW.   
Wendy and I walked to the Gallery but Sue needed to get a cab and had a lovely couple, offer to share and to drop her at the gallery just up the road.
We had lunch first then spent time checking out , once or twice the finalists and winner
