A Day at the Cricket

I had the chance to go with Sue to the Boxing Day test and spent 2 relaxing days taking in a slow test match.


Featuring the work of over 100 artists and designers from 32 countries, the NGV Triennial surveys the world of art and design, across cultures, scales, geographies and perspectives. 
I attended a Members preview and roam date varied exhibits for a few hours. 
It is a free exhibition running over summer so plenty of time to get back to see it in detail.
Some of my favourite /interesting exhibitions.

Victoria Amazonica, 2017, was created by Brazilian designers Fernando and Humberto Campana in collaboration with Yarrenyty Arltere Artists, designers Elliat Rich and James Young and the Centre for Appropriate Technology – all based in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

Edith Head

On spur of the moment i decided to drive to Bendigo and check out the Bendigo Gallery exhibition of Edith Head Fashion designer to Hollywood

As with all their exhibits there was loads of clothes, great film clips (one of all of her 8 Academy Awards) As well as some Tv ones where she had described how she designed something for a film and another At Home where she put a paper bag on her head and then can be objective about what she says as you are not talking to her face!!

Home for the holiday

Celia came home for Pauline's Wedding as her mum Fran is Celia's best friend. As fate would have it it was also Celia's 65th birthday so we had a few celebratory events.  This was the first time Celia has been home in Summer for years so she was delighted to see how light and bright the new Unit is. Unfortunately she arrived in an unprecedented HOT November with temps over 34 every day and we made an escape to Aireys Inlet 
We wanted to go to Aireys Inlet to scatter Spencer's ashes which we did on a warm sunny day into the waves on an outgoing tide at Sunny Side beach An appropriate farewell.
As well I had had some gardening done at the house for my benefit but also as a suppose for Celia for her birthday. I had all the dead trees cut down as well as other that were not doing well This opened the ground up and some trees have taken off!   I also put up plant climbing frames in the garden off the deck, and paved a grass section for the table umbrella for a dining area. …
