66ers Turn 70

2018 meant that all of our July 66 nursing group were turning 70 and many of them at the end of the year (except Pam who reminds us she is not 70 till January!)
We had planned a lunch in December (we meet regularly) but Jill alerted me to the fact that Chris was coming over from Perth
So we moved the date so we could surprise her, and all but Jenny, Jane and Robynne (and Hil of course) were able to attend
We had lunch at our now regular spot Chloe's at Young and Jackson just opposite Flinders St Station.

Dylan is eight

Clelia and I had a lovely day with Bridie and Sean celebrating Dylan's birthday (Friday when we are away)
He is becoming more socially confident and spent time with me, going through the Modern Art book Cresten had got for him him they went to the MoMA
Max who will be 3 the Monday 8th October after we get back, was a happy cheeky dynamo
He also got some birthday presents (we will give him ours when we get back and have dinner on Bridie's birthday 5th October )

Bridie did a fabulous lunch and bought this Piñata cake 

the cake has 8 candles on one side and 3 on the other 

Both boys look a little embarrassed as we sang!

both blew them out at once!

Dylan was very patient with Max 

The cake was full of smarties 

thrilling!

Dylan very diligently read the messages in the cards before opening the present!!
I gave him a Collingwood guernsey 

Yacht Club history

September 6th commemorates the 50th Anniversary of Roger Byrne and Bill Binks winning the World Jollyboat Championship in North Carolina
So we had an impromptu celebration in the club rooms with many of the past and present JB sailors present

SCARF Festival National Wool Museum

On my way to Aireys last week I stopped off in Geelong to see their annual Scarf competition.
The imagination and variety as inspiring!!
My favourites were as below.
The varied interpretation of scarf was really interesting

there are several categories and all easily displayed 

this one done on an old Laconia Blanket

This was made of patchwork Japanese fabric

The weavings section was beautiful

This wa from the Fantasy section!!

This piece was lovely Woven and looking like a scarf at front but with a back and sides .

Street Art in Adelaide

I knew Adelaide and quite a lot of street art and saw the first three just a few minutes walk form the Hotel

It was hard to find a map of the art  and trying to reference a map on line with a list was futile So I just snapped an dropped I could work out what was what!!
